K dispozici dávám beta verzi KJTlogu s databází Firebird. Protože nemáme plně otestovány všechny vlastnosti týkající se spolupráce s Firebirdem a kvůli chystaným doplňkům jako je import ADIF jde spíše o beta verzi KJTlogu. Firebird vykazuje lepší vlastnosti, proto bude výhodnéjší tato databáze na pomalejších strojích.

Vzhledem k tomu, že se během testů ukázal Firebird rychlejší než předchozí databáze a jedná se o stále vyvíjený SW, je výhodné také z hlediska "údržby" zvolit tuto databázi. Předchozí FSSQL byla plně zdarma pro nekomerční účely včetně komponent, které se začlenily do kódu a vše fungovalo jak má. U Firebirdu(FB) je situace poněkud jiná. Databáze je zdarma a volně šiřitelná jako opensource. Bohužel ne všechny komponenty jsou zdarma. Vyzkoušel jsem mnoho možností, ale jako nejpřijatelnější se ukázaly placené komponenty IBDAC od Devart.

V tuto chvíli nic neměním na způsobu poskytování, nicméně bych byl rád i za email nebo vzkaz v diskuzi, jestli vše jede OK, jaké je subj. porovnání rychlosti apod.

Pro přechod na verzi FB je zapotřebí stáhnout zip fbupdate a vše z adresáře fbupdate zkopírovat včetně podadresářů do adr. KJTlogu. Samozřejmě doporučuji nejdřív zkopírovat celý adresář původního KJTlogu někam do zálohy. Po rozbalení stačí spustit KJTlog a nejdříve proběhne konverze dat z FSSQL databáze do FB. Pokud během konverze dojde k nějaké chybě, prosím o info a zaslání err.dbg. Další konverzi lze "spustit" smazáním souboru databáze FB kjtlog.fdb. V případě chyby je totiž zpravidla již založen soubor databáze a následný test po spuštění zadetekuje jeho přítomnost a konverze se nespustí.

Přeji minimum problémů a bezproblémový chod. Osobně mám jen jedinou zkušenost s problémem při spuštění KJTlogu, kdyse objevila chyba, že nelzeotevřít knihovnu fbclient.dll, ikdyž na uvedeném místě byla. Já to tehdy vyřešil na zkoušku instalací originál serveru Firebird a vypnutím jeho autom. spouštěnípo startu. Problém však může spíše způsobovat chybějící knihovna windows týkající se Visual C.Dalších 10ks PC však fungovalo bez problémů a bez nutnosti jakékoliv instalace. Všechny potřebné soubory jsou ke stažení v sekci download.

PS: Jirka OK2PMS narazil na obdobný problém a stejně jak u mě u verze XP SP3. Zjistil jsem, že je třeba doplnit soubor manifest do adresáře deníku. Vzhledem k dořešení Importu/Exportu ADIF, byl aktualizován zip fbupdate a také dodán na web zip jen s exe. ADIF Import/Export obsahuje v tuto chvíli pouze verze s DB Firebird.
